But if you own a large-battery smartphone, you may need a large-capacity power bank. Understanding the conversion ratio is critical in helping you determine an ideal power bank for your device.

You must also consider the number of charges the power bank can hold before you make the final decision. For instance, to charge Moto100 or iPhone 13 pro several times, consider buying a power bank with 20,000mAh. The power bank can charge iPhone 13 or Moto100 more than four times. But the problem with such heavy-duty power banks is that they are robust and heavy. So, you will find it challenging to carry them around. They are also expensive and unaffordable.

3. Weight And Size

As noted earlier, power bank sizes and capacity are closely related. The heavy-duty types are large and robust. They are robust and fitted with more hardware to help them store more power. Therefore, heavy-duty power banks may not be suitable if you spend most of your time on the road. Note that the heavy-duty power bank takes more time to charge. Such adapters and cables are suitable for charging tablets and laptops on the go. Also, certain car chargers could charge your smartphone in a shorter period.

5. The Number Of Ports

Although the number of ports may not be a critical factor when buying a databank, it is nevertheless an important consideration. For instance, if you are camping with your family, members may need to charge their devices at some point. So buying the early power banks featuring a single port may not help. The latest power banks feature two or more ports, meaning you can charge multiple devices simultaneously. The caveat is that it may take longer to charge two or more devices since the ports need to share the maximum current output. 

6. Lithium-Ion or Lithium Polymer

Although the technologies used to make the power bank may not count much, it nevertheless matters. You have an option to choose the lithium-ion or lithium polymer battery. The lithium-ion batteries lack the memory effect and so may not charge well after they harden (become difficult to charge). On the contrary, Lithium polymer batteries are robust and flexible and tend to last relatively longer. Besides, lithium polymer batteries do not suffer from leaking electrolytes. So they will continue to charge until they die. Some power bank manufacturers will specify if they can charge lithium polymer or lithium-ion batteries.

7. Charging The Power Bank

The power bank will also need a new charge to continue rendering service. But large-capacity power banks take longer to charge, while the lower-capacity type will take a shorter period. Also, the charger's capacity and the power bank's efficiency may determine how long it takes to charge.  The more efficient ones take a shorter period, while the less efficient ones may take longer.

8. Added Light

Most power banks feature a light that you may switch on or off depending on the prevailing situation. Such a light could be used as a torch when it gets dark. But the light consumes some amount of power and may determine how long it serves you.  So it is crucial to consider whether you will need the light or not.  

Of course, you may need to consider plenty of other factors when buying a power bank. But the power bank sizes, the capacity, and how long they take charge are essential. Also, consider the weight, the battery's ability, and the number of devices to be charged. Other peripheral factors you may need to consider include the number of ports and the flashlight.
